    Services

    AmeyCespa (East) offers a comprehensive and innovative waste service to businesses, local authorities and the general public.  We are the main waste contractor for Cambridgeshire County Council, based at our 165 hectare (400 acre) site at Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire. From here we operate a PPC-permitted landfill which takes all non-hazardous waste such as household and business waste and mixed skip waste. In addition to providing a landfill and waste processing facility for 200,000 tonnes of the county’s waste each year, we also operate a state-of-the-art composting system and a modern fleet of refuse collection vehicles, Rear End Loaders (REL) and skip vehicles.

    We pride ourselves on our flexible approach to waste management based on partnership working with our extensive customer base. While our roots are firmly grounded in the waste management business we have established ourselves as the largest composting facility in Cambridgeshire. This, together with developing future systems for the sorting and processing of glass, metals and other recyclables, makes us the fastest growing waste management group in East Anglia.

    OUR RECORD

    AmeyCespa (East) deals with around 300,000 tonnes of waste of year, of which;

    • 55% currently goes to landfill (this will reduce substantially when the Mechanical Biological Treatment plant is fully operational).
    • 45% is recycled or composted, including green waste, construction/demolition waste, paper, cardboard, glass and metals.

    Facilities

    AmeyCespa (East) operates a number of major waste facilities across Cambridgeshire. Our main site and company headquarters is the Waterbeach Waste Management Park just off the A10 about three miles north of Cambridge. The waste management park contains the MBT Plant Open Windrow and In-Vessel Composting sites, Landfill, Construction and Demolition waste drop off, Recycling, skip hire and waste transfer drop off for council and trade waste.
     
    AmeyCespa (East) runs two further waste transfer facilities at Alconbury and March. The Alconbury site has waste transfer drop off for council and trade waste; the March site drop off for council waste only.

    In addition AmeyCespa (East) manages the nine Household Waste Recycling Centres across Cambridgeshire, as part of the PFI Contract with Cambridgeshire County Council.
