    Cambridge Waste PFI Project

    AmeyCespa has established itself as a leading
    waste management company in the Eastern Region by securing Cambridgeshire County Council’s £731 million, 28 year waste processing and recycling contract. This long-term contract was let as a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project.
     
    The centrepiece of the contract is a £41.5 million state of the art Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant with attached education centre, plus expansion of the company’s in-vessel composting facility and new recycling infrastructure, to reach maximum diversion from landfill. AmeyCespa has also provided two new waste transfer stations at Alconbury and March and manage the operations of the nine household waste recycling centres in Cambridgeshire as part of the PFI contract.
