AmeyCespa is a 50/50 joint venture company between Amey, one of the UK’s leading public service companies, and Cespa, one of Spain’s largest waste management companies. We have over 40 years experience in holistic waste management.
At AmeyCespa East, our aim is to meet the waste needs of Cambridgeshire and the Eastern Region, now and in the future, by offering a comprehensive and innovative waste service to businesses, local authorities and the general public. We want to work closely with local communities to ensure we achieve this goal.  Leading the way – The future of waste management Since the acquisition of Donarbon in 2010, AmeyCespa has established itself as a leading waste management company in the East of England. As part of the acquisition we will continue to work with Cambridgeshire County Council on their £731 million, 28 year waste processing and recycling contract. This long term contract was let as a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract. The centrepiece of the contract is a £41.5 million state of the art Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant with an attached education centre, designed for use by the local community, councils and businesses. The contract also covers the expansion of the in-vessel composting facility and a new recycling infrastructure, which will ensure that over 80% of Cambridgeshire’s waste is diverted from landfill.
